Roberto Cavalli Fall 2011

Roberto Cavalli’s Fall 2011 presentation focused on playing with layers to create a futuristic version of the Cavalli woman who looked like she was out to fight an apocalyptic war.
The tough Cavalli warrior woman wears metallic bodysuits, Fox fur vests worn with long dresses or feather jackets worn over short dresses, laser-cut leather jackets, feathered necklaces, long skinny pants covered in metallic embroidery in shades of gold, silver copper and iron, layered with mousseline dresses.
Maxi skirts, school-boy waistcoats made super-feminine by nipped waists and cuts, layered over chiffon dresses and chiffon blouses which are also paired with masculine blazers.
Cavalli’s beloved animal prints were used in this collection but in a dark and moody fashion with tribal accents.
Rich textures including python, velvet, and fur were presented alongside lighter more feminine fabrics like chiffon floaty maxi dresses accented with feathers.
If you are worried that no red carpet gowns were presented, don’t be because Cavalli usually creates a special red carpet Couture collection which we will no doubt see during Cannes and Venice Film Festivals.
Front Row: Kelly Rowland, Anna Wintour, Anna Piaggi and Anna Dello Russo
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Shakira, Jennifer Lopez and Megan Fox
