The Elie Saab Fall 2011 Couture presentation was the perfect way to end my Couture Fashion Week.
My favourite designer did what he does best; create jaw-dropping, breath-taking, red carpet ready gowns.
He didn’t let his first ever Resort collection slow him down, as his Fall 2011 Couture collection was one of his best to date.
I could literally gush about this collection all day.
The white, aquamarine, blush, slate blue and caramel coloured gowns and cocktail dresses ranged from Princess-like to hot temptress (Karlie Kloss was always the latter).
I loved the orchid accent tied to the waist of most of the looks, this was a beautiful subtle finishing touch.
Most of the looks were embellished with sparkling details, whilst others were embroidered with floral appliqués.
I can’t wait to see who will be the lucky girl to wear a look from this collection first.
Whilst this is a Fall collection, the light, airy, ethereal dreamy dresses and gowns wouldn’t look out of place on a red carpet this summer.
Can you smell my desperation?
Favourites: Ice blue embellished tulle gown, slate blue embellished gown and heavenly off-white embroidered gown.
Shoes: Elie Saab triple stacked platform heels

I was totally floored when I saw Daisy Lowe glide into the Théâtre National de Chaillot for the Elie Saab Fall 2011 presentation earlier this afternoon.
I’m always struck by how beautiful she is and how much taller she is in real life.
She opted to wear a red Elie Saab Fall 2011 long sleeve gown with a thigh-high split.
I didn’t see her shoes until now. The pumps aren’t actually black, but a shimmering bronze/brown mix.
Some sexy strappy sandals would have rendered me unconscious, especially as she’s also carrying a leopard print clutch.

The venue for the Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2011 presentation was stiflingly hot. It was turned up several notches when the first model took to the runway.
Alexandre presented 29 looks in varying shades of red including blood red, crimson red, scarlet red, fire-engine red, candy apple red, maroon and Burgundy.
The homage to M. Valentino showcased red as desire and sensuality signalling inner strength.
Model stormed the runway with perfect red pouts whilst wearing red Louboutin booties and pigalle pumps.
Their range of sexy looks included LRD (little red dresses), backless jumpsuits, billowing gowns with plunging necklines and double thigh-high splits, velvet tuxedos, luxe fur coats, chiffon halters, uber tight pants and seductive pencil dresses.
The designer, who is obsessed with accentuating the shoulders, added oversized butterfly wings, sculptural batwing sleeves and puffy oversized sleeves to cocktail dresses.
One long sleeved gown looked like a ball of flame as it glimmered with beaded details on the runway.
Only one gown of the 30 looks wasn’t red. That was the finale gown below.
The nude long sleeved gown had the most intricate Swarovski elements embroidered into the bold shoulders which also cascaded down onto the front and back of the gown.
Favourites: Finale gown, Ball of Flame gown and one-shoulder sequin jumpsuit with draped chiffon detail
Key accessories: Christian Louboutin shoes, Alexandre Vauthier clutches and ruby jewels

keri hilson,
Kim Kardashian
The icons – the celebrities and stars of Hollywood are among the main sources of ideas and notions as far as beauty and fashion is concerned. The runway is the generator but the celebrities are the marketers of these looks and style. Wrap your 2010 up with the New Year’s ravishing mixtures of colors, designs, hairstyles and fashion statements. Pair up your individualistic ideas with that of the glamour under the limelight.
What makes the celebrities looks most notable? Notable makeup is one look which settles in within the boundaries of the average. Meaning, there is no going overboard or going under board. Additionally, the makeup perfectly complements the facial features and the skin tone of the wearer making it more of a part of the face rather than an add-on.
Variations in makeup products have come in trends and are widely available in forms suitable to almost all skin types. To guide you through looking fabulous without going beyond what is expected; here are some inspirational thoughts from loved and critiqued styles of some famous stars.
The star, Kim Kardashian, has always looked glamorous as a public figure. Her markedly good body and chic get-ups make her a good prospect to investigate. Her makeup has always showed the feminine side of a woman – gentle, sophisticated and elegant. If you thing the bold colors will suit you best, don’t hesitate – jump for it. In relation to the New Year’s new trends in makeup set-ups, Kim have chosen favorable colors and hues during a red carpet even which specially emphasized beautiful features of her face without having one overpowering the other. She took the liberty of enhancing her eyes and bon structure. Use of foundation is particularly important here as it will serve as a base for flawless look. Plum eye shadows, false eyelashes and a finish of bronzer blush and nude colored lipstick wrap the whole thing up. It’s a good getaway from the too conventional bold and too conservative neutral.
Carrie Underwood looks fresh all the time regardless of the hectic schedules. Hers is a good example of natural beauty. She is the perfect muse for women at all age brackets. The fresh look is perfect for both a day’s work and a night’s out because of the fact that only the right features are brought out. Creating a flawless complexion using a foundation or a translucent powder can do the trick. Tints of blush on the cheeks with subtle eye liner pencils and black mascara bring about a good façade for the eyes. Finish the makeup with a coral lip gloss and you are good to go for a day or a night’s out.
Spotlight is on Lala during the Critics Choice Award just this 2011. The vintage and retro panorama she brought in a formal event came to be apt by that time. The glam and the chic veneer she put up is one thing to note. The makeup placed accents on the best focal features – lips, cheeks and eyes. The cheekbones were tinted with bronze blush and shimmering eye shadow captured the eyes best set-up. Finishing the look is a glossy lip shimmer.
Sheer beauty defined Keri Hilson’s makeup choice during the 2011 Critic’s Choice Awards. The makeup was purely discreet being available for both daytime and night time activities. It gives women a chance to stand out using their natural beauties. The delicate, radiant look made using shimmering makeup sets gave Keri a youthful and standout look. It creates a flawless look which gives the cheeks a healthy flush and a soft pink blush. Liquid eyeliner and mascara outlined the eyes and added elegance to the makeup. The pink nude lipstick adds flawlessness to the features. If you think this makeup is perfect for you, then, head on to the nearest cosmetic shop and buy the things you will need.
Happy Birthday Lady Diana
Today would’ve marked Lady Diana’s 50th birthday.
We will always remember her humanitarian work, style, sophistication, for being a modern royal and for being a mother to the future King of England.
Happy Birthday Lady Diana.

Eugenia Silva In Armani Privé – ELLE Awards 25th Anniversary
Spanish model Eugenia Silva attended the Elle Awards 25th Anniversary last night in Madrid, Spain looking absolutely stunning in this electric blue Armani Privé Spring 2011 gown.
The architectural one-shouldered gown features a cut-out on the side which reveals a gorgeous sequined bodice.
As if her gown wasn’t incredible enough, Eugenia added some amazing accessories which took her look up several notches.
Her stunning Armani Privé fuchsia heels and matching perspex clutch with contrast purple leather panel, were the perfect accessories to add to this bright, bold look.
Two diamond bracelets contributed yet more dazzle to her look, as she opted to wear her hair in a super chic centre-part bun whilst smoky eyes completed her look.
This is without a doubt a beautiful look which Eugenia styled perfectly.
A well worthy BDOTW contender.
Who Wore Elie Saab Better? Leighton Meester or Astrid Munoz

Leighton Meester stole our hearts when she took to the red carpet to attend the 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala in this stunning Elie Saab Spring 2011 powder blue dress back in October.
The actress looked incredible in her tulle cocktail dress which features subtle sequin detailing and a thin satin ribbon tied into a delicate bow around the waist. She was the first celebrity to wear a look from this beautiful collection.
Leighton played up the sweetness of the dress by pairing it with matching baby blue suede heels from the same collection plus a glitter-embellished Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch.
She wore her hair in a pretty up-do with a few strands of loose curls left out and kept her makeup soft, wearing a coral shade of lipstick.
Astrid Munoz wore the same dress to attend the ELLE Awards 25th Anniversary in Madrid, Spain last night.
The Puerto-Rican model took a decidedly different approach, wearing her hair in a centre-part bun and pairing the dress with electric blue Charlotte Olympia ‘Paloma’ platform pumps and an oversized cocktail ring and statement earrings.
It’s hard to top Leighton in this dress considering how lovely she looks, but she wins for me because I think Astrid’s hairstyle is too severe for such a sweet dress and definitely think her shoes were the too stark in contrast to her soft delicate dress.
Leighton worked this pretty, lady-like look perfectly and therefore wins by a long mile.
