On Friday I turned attention
Ming Xi‘s
haute couture story by
Nick Knight that features in
V71 Summer 2011, but this morning I have another editorial in mind from the very same issue. Ford’s
Tao Okamotoopens a
Terry Tsiolis story titled “Girls on Top” on page 112 and thus bolsters the Asian quotient of the self-described “Asian Issue” with that three-headed figure on its cover. “The Lindas and Kates of the ’90s have morphed into the Liu Wens and Fei Feis of today,” declares the article, “Meet the four Asian supermodels laying the fashion world at their feet.” And meet we do starting with Tao Okamoto wearing a
Jay Massacret-styled look comprised of a
Hugo top and a
David Yurman bangle that is complemented by
NARS Cosmetics Cream Eyeshadow in
wing and Duo Eyeshadow in
pandora on the eyes and
Bumble and bumble Gellac on the hair. For Tao’s second look she wears a knit dress by
Stefanel,
Mania Maniachoker, and
Laurence Dacade heels. On eyes and lips Tao wears NARS Cosmetics Eyeshadow in
nightlife and Lipstick in
belle de jour. With these two looks it isn’t difficult to see why Tao Okamoto most certainly is a
girl on top.
