TAO OKAMOTO | V71 SUMMER 2011

On Friday I turned attention Ming Xi‘s haute couture story by Nick Knight that features in V71 Summer 2011, but this morning I have another editorial in mind from the very same issue. Ford’s Tao Okamotoopens a Terry Tsiolis story titled “Girls on Top” on page 112 and thus bolsters the Asian quotient of the self-described “Asian Issue” with that three-headed figure on its cover. “The Lindas and Kates of the ’90s have morphed into the Liu Wens and Fei Feis of today,” declares the article, “Meet the four Asian supermodels laying the fashion world at their feet.” And meet we do starting with Tao Okamoto wearing aJay Massacret-styled look comprised of a Hugo top and a David Yurman bangle that is complemented byNARS Cosmetics Cream Eyeshadow in wing and Duo Eyeshadow in pandora on the eyes and Bumble and bumble Gellac on the hair. For Tao’s second look she wears a knit dress by StefanelMania Maniachoker, and Laurence Dacade heels. On eyes and lips Tao wears NARS Cosmetics Eyeshadow innightlife and Lipstick in belle de jour. With these two looks it isn’t difficult to see why Tao Okamoto most certainly is a girl on top.

Blake Lively In Michael Kors – 2011 MTV Movie Awards

Werk It, Own It Award
I’m always disappointed when celebs skip the red carpet, but Blake Lively was at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards tonight to present an award with Ryan Reynolds.
She looked stunning on stage wearing an electric blue Michael Kors fitted dress with illusions panels and purple suede Louboutin’s.
Blake in Electric Blue? I think my heart just stopped.
For those who say Blake looks trashy I really want to hear your thoughts on this look.
Michael Kors isn’t a trashy brand, her twins are covered and her dress is respectably above the knee, so I’m wondering what faults you may find with this look.
I think she’s made a very real effort to tone down the sex appeal on this occasion, but it’s not her fault that her body is smokin’ hot.
Lorraine Schwartz jewels completed her look.
