Coachella Music Festival Fashion – Day 1

The Coachella Music Festival kicked off yesterday in Indio, CA.
Stars enjoyed the sunshine, free-flowing beer and summertime jams whilst wearing chic festival garbs.
Some got it right, whilst others got it wrong.
Vanessa Hudgens: She got it so so right. I think she’s a hippie/boho chick at heart. She wore a Wkshp Sioux Falls tank with Novella Royale bell bottom pants. Accessories are key to festival dressing; they can really make a look. Vanessa added a floppy hat, Katie Costell Jensen necklace and Natalie B. Jewelry ring. She kept up her love for feather earrings.
Alessandra Ambrosio: She also got into the festival spirit by adding bohemian accessories to her Rebecca Taylor Sunflower cami dress. The model opted for slouchy boots instead of sandals or flip flops.
Nicky Hilton: The heiress brought some Parisian chic to the festival by wearing an Isabel Marant strapless mini dress with a flounced hemline. An oversized fringed bag, aviator shades, colourful bracelets and sandals completed her look.
Jamie Chung: The “Sucker Punch” actress teams a printed crop top with loose floral pants. I’m not a fan of heavy Doc Martens, but somehow they work with her look.
Dita von Teese: Whilst her summery Moschino Cheap and Chic Spring 2011 dress is perfect for Coachella, I would’ve loved to see her really let her hair down, both metaphorically and literally. Espadrilles, embellished sunglasses and a Mulberry Lily shoulder bag with a miniature version attached completed her look.
Whitney Port: The reality TV star is in her element. Every day is a music festival for Whitney. On this occasion I don’t like the shoes. I love her white dress and striped bag combo, but the boots are so heavy for a sunny day in Indio with a white dress.
Ashley Greene: The Twilight actress has all the right elements for festival dressing, but it all feels a bit grubby. There is nothing chic about this look.
Tara Reid: Uggs??? To a music festival??? REALLY???

Look We Love: Jamie Chung’s Sexy Loose Waves

Lush bouncy waves that ooze oomph and effortless sex appeal? Now this is the kind of hair every girl wants to have. Kudos to whoever styled Jamie Chung’s locks for the L.A. premiere of Sucker PunchHer loose retro waves instantly evoke thoughts of our favorite film noir seductresses of yesteryear, like Ava Gardner, Veronica Lake and Rita Hayworth. Below, our tips on how you too can master temptress tresses.
—Divide hair into small sections and quickly pass a ceramic flat iron down the entire hair shaft (from roots to tips) to even hair out and remove tangles;
—Holding the flat iron vertically, close the plates mid-shaft (just under your ear) and lightly turn and clap the iron until you reach the ends;
—Using both of your index fingers, immediately roll each section up and pin each curl flat on your scalp with a clip. This allows your strands to cool and set in a coiled position, giving each curl more definition. Bonus points if you do this every single night—your waves can last a full week!;
—Remove clips and brush ringlets with a paddle brush to turn curls into waves;
—Lastly, mist your mane with a lightweight dry oil. It helps tame frizz and gives your mane a glossy finish.
Sedu Revolution Tourmaline Ionic Styling Iron, $159.99 at BergdorfGoodman.com | Diane Professional Single-Prong Curl Clips, $1.29 for 10 at Amazon.com | Denman Paddle Brush, $11.95 at Folica.com | Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Mist, $24 at Ulta.com.

Jamie Chung In Giambattista Valli – “Sucker Punch” LA Premiere

I love Jamie Chung. The first time I ever featured her she blew me away so much I gave her BDOTW.
She wowed me again last night at the “Sucker Punch” LA Premiere.
I will love her for life for wearing one of my favourite looks from the Giambattista Valli strapless draped mousseline dress from the Spring 2011 collection.
The yellow dress has a taupe panel which drapes from the waist and a sexy thigh-high split.
She teamed her look with Loree Rodkin chandelier earrings, a Loree Rodkin Peacock feather ring, a silver Judith Leiber “Op Art” embossed leather minaudière and nude Ruthie Davis pumps.
I wish she opted for strappy heels.
Thick brunette waves draped over one shoulder and red lippie completed her look.
