Fall Denim First Look: New Jeans from Vegas

LAS VEGAS — There was no small amount of choice in the selection of denim that premiered here this week. But if we had to pick, we like this new pair from AG Jeans (above left), made with clean, minimal selvedge. Others we spotted included distressed jeans from Hudson, with rusy nail holes that wouldn't look out of place on a coal miner. Hudson also showed a micro-boot — a slim leg with flared boot bottoms. Our favorite among the new looks from William Rast was a pair of Logan straight legs, with the usual retro stitching. Meanwhile, Agave debuted their new gold-label Purist selvedge, if you're looking for a rawer look, along with a unique denim-corduroy combo (above right). Keep reading the Style Blog this week for more of what's coming out of Vegas and into stores this fall.

Fall 2011 Shoes: A Visual Preview from Vegas

LAS VEGAS — On the first day of the fashion trade show here, the theme was shoes. Specifically, what'll be happening in men's shoes very soon. Brands from Lacoste and K-Swiss to Florsheim and Kenneth Cole — along with a few exciting collaborations, like Mark McNairy for Bass, Undefeated for Puma, and Filson for Sebago — premiered their new lines. The biggest lesson: Boat shoe-sneaker hybrids aren't going anywhere. They were particularly popular in high-tops, as were alpine boots and canvas more generally. You can check out those and a few other highlights (distressed leather, sun-faded colors, suede) below.

Leather sneaker hybrids from Lacoste. A shoe of the moment.

Yet another Lacoste boot, this time in suede.

Kenneth Cole. Now those are bendy, badass boots.

Chukkas from Florsheim.

The Puma Clyde, already clean-lined and classic, becomes more so in the hands of UNDFTD (Undefeated).

Another exciting collaboration, this time from Mark McNairy for Bass.

New Sperry Top-Siders. For when it's nicer out.
