Rihanna in Adam Selman’s Spring 2014 Collection

Rihanna was just seen headed to the Bowery Hotel in New York City and she was coming to attend a birthday party yesterday evening (August 14).
She has a crazy charm about continuing her love affair with all things alluding to lingerie, the singer was in another save-it-for-the-boudoir dress, and now it from her stylist Adam Selman’s Spring 2014 collection.
The black satin frock with white lace trim, side slit, and lacing detail to encourage the undone vibe, was styled with simple black pumps, a Chanel shoulder bag and a selection of the usual heavy-metal jewelry she favours.
Is Rihanna stuck in a style rut or simply styling diva?

Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2011 Couture

The venue for the Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2011 presentation was stiflingly hot. It was turned up several notches when the first model took to the runway.
Alexandre presented 29 looks in varying shades of red including blood red, crimson red, scarlet red, fire-engine red, candy apple red, maroon and Burgundy.
The homage to M. Valentino showcased red as desire and sensuality signalling inner strength.
Model stormed the runway with perfect red pouts whilst wearing red Louboutin booties and pigalle pumps.
Their range of sexy looks included LRD (little red dresses), backless jumpsuits, billowing gowns with plunging necklines and double thigh-high splits, velvet tuxedos, luxe fur coats, chiffon halters, uber tight pants and seductive pencil dresses.
The designer, who is obsessed with accentuating the shoulders, added oversized butterfly wings, sculptural batwing sleeves and puffy oversized sleeves to cocktail dresses.
One long sleeved gown looked like a ball of flame as it glimmered with beaded details on the runway.
Only one gown of the 30 looks wasn’t red. That was the finale gown below.
The nude long sleeved gown had the most intricate Swarovski elements embroidered into the bold shoulders which also cascaded down onto the front and back of the gown.
Favourites: Finale gown, Ball of Flame gown and one-shoulder sequin jumpsuit with draped chiffon detail
Key accessories: Christian Louboutin shoes, Alexandre Vauthier clutches and ruby jewels
Who I Would Like To See Wearing This Collection: Rihanna, Beyonce Knowles, Angelina Jolie, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Cameron Diaz, Dita von Teese, Blake Lively and Megan Fox

Rihanna In Dolce & Gabbana – Nivea’s 100th Anniversary Celebration

Yesterday Rihanna performed at Nivea’s 100th anniversary celebration in Milan, Italy.
The red haired beauty was decked out in a gorgeous angelic Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2011 white embroidered frock, as she belted out hit single “California King Bed” for those lucky enough to attend.
Rihanna styled her hair into a fish-bone plait, which she sports often. Other fans of this style include Blake Lively and Cheryl Cole.
Floral print pumps and gold hooped earrings completed her look.

Rihanna In Carlos Miele – American Idol

Rihanna took American Idol by storm last night when she performed her new single, “California King Bed.”
The singer who has ditched her short pixie-crop in favour of her long flowing red curls, belted out the track wearing a Carlos Miele Fall 2011 gown.
Her stunning rose velvet halter gown with a lattice detail down the front is breath-taking on her.
I haven’t been this wowed by her in a since awards season.

Rihanna For Vogue US April 2011

Rihanna channels her inner Ariel from The Little Mermaid on cover of the April 2011 edition of American Vogue.
The singer was so excited about her cover, she tweeted it straight after the shoot.
As Vogue covers are features are supposed to be confidential, I wasn’t surprised to see her tweet taken down a few hours later.
I can see why she was so excited. She got to wear a stunning embroidered Chanel Pre-Fall 2011 dress on the cover which was shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.
The editors at Vogue didn’t try to portray Rihanna as anyone other than herself. She gives us sexy rock chic bad-ass attitude plus a few gentle shots of her skipping down the beach wearing Lanvin.
Rihanna wears a red hot Hervé Léger by Max Azria cutout swimsuit with Alexander Wang open-toe booties; a Chloé one-shoulder mesh dress and a Donna Karan midnight-blue bodysuit in the rest of her beautiful editorial.
The April issue is called the “Shape Issue”, so Rihanna talks about loving her figure and hating the gym. Here are some extracts from her interview:
On cutting her hair and dying it black back in 2007: “When I cut my hair, the whole sound changed, my style changed.”
On her body: “Over the holidays, and even during filming, I realized that I actually like my body, even if it’s not perfect according to the book. I just feel sexy. For the first time, I don’t want to get rid of the curves. I just want to tone it up. My body is comfortable, and it’s not unhealthy, so I’m going to rock with it.”
On going to the gym: “I hate going to the gym and doing it the old-fashioned way. I hate anything that’s too straightforward, too routine, too familiar. I get bored really, really quickly.”

Carven Fall 2011

Guillaume Henry’s Fall 2011 collection for Carven gives us a little bit of everything because it is made for real-life girls like you and I.
At the showroom yesterday I saw a modern collection of statement cocktail dresses, A-line skirts, cropped sweaters, adorable shorts, luxe wool coats with furry sleeves, sweater dresses, platform wedges, bags, suede cut-out boots, flared skirts and a tan leather jacket I must own before the end of 2011.
What stood out most were the plaid pieces. I especially loved the asymmetrical plaid top above which was paired with the burgundy skirt.
This collection is perfect for elegant girls about town in search of Parisian chic.
Guillaume Henry’s Carven collection is sold via Net-A-Porter US and Net-A-Porter International.
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Leighton Meester, Ginnifer Goodwin, Alexis Bledel, Lea Michele, Rihanna, Dakota Fanning, Kristen Stewart and Chloe Sevigny

Sidewalk Style: Ciara In Topshop

Ciara was spotted indulging in some retail therapy in Beverly Hills, California on Friday.
She could’ve been trying to forget all about her very public Twitter battle with Rihanna following her appearance on Joan River’s ‘Fashion Police’ show. Here is what she had to say about Rihanna:
“I ran into her recently at a party and she wasn’t the nicest, and it’s crazy because I’ve always respected what she’s done with fashion and I’ve ran into her before, but this time it just wasn’t the most pleasant run-in, so…”
The sports fan who is often spotted courtside at basketball matches wore a Topshop baseball jacket on her shopping trip with jeans and black booties.
These Topshop baseball jackets are available to purchase from Topshop US andTopshop International.

Sidewalk Style: Rihanna In Alexander Wang

Rihanna is currently in Australia to perform at a party for mobile phone retailer Optus.
Before the event she was spotted baring her midriff as she arrived for lunch at Beppi’s in Sydney.
Rihanna wore an Alexander Wang cropped mock neck tank and Alexander Wang matte twill baggy pants which are both from the Resort 2011 collection.
Christian Louboutin ‘Lucifer Bow’ heels and gold jewelry completed her look.
Whilst I’m way too old for a crop top I really love this look, especially the colour combinations.
The crop top is sweet yet sexy.  The pants are quite business like and the heels are edgy with a hint of danger.
Her looks is saying a lot, but I’m loving all the elements.

Emilio Pucci Fall 2011

I really enjoyed the change of direction from this Emilio Pucci Fall 2011 collection.
The sexy flowing dresses and kaftans were replaced by uber sexy fitted dresses.
Peter Dundas went from concentrating on legs via thigh-high splits and minis to focusing on the bust as breasts heaved over tight corseted tops.
Either way Blake Lively will be happy.
The presentation gave us rock n’ roll elegance with the sexy twist.
We saw bold prints and baroque embellishments on form-fitting bodices and dresses.
Chic daywear included velvet riding coats with leg of mutton sleeves, tailored riding pants, puff-sleeve jackets, jacquard jackets, A-line skirts and feminine lace blouses.
I loved the inclusion of several classic signature Pucci prints.
The finale included some of the sexiest looks I have seen all fashion week.
Green goddess dresses with embellished asymmetrical sleeves and the final look had a sexy bejeweled bodice which I would love to see on Angelina Jolie.
Key accessories included Tyrol hats, heeled hiking boots, leather clutches, suede shoulder bags and signature sexy sandals.
I loved the messy plaits which I’ve dubbed the ‘Pucci Plait.’ I wonder which starlet will work this style into their red carpet look.
Front Row: Anna Wintour, Poppy Delevigne, Eugénie Niarchos, Anna Dello Russo, John Taylor
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Blake Lively, Megan Fox, Fergie, Kylie Mingoue, Rihanna, Beau Garrett, Angelina Jolie, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Zoe Saldana

Rihanna In Prada – “Reb’l Fleur” Fragrance Launch

Rihanna is back to doing the girlie thing after wearing many couture looks last week.
She attended the launch of her new perfume, “Reb’l Fleur,” at Macy’s Lakewood Mall in Lakewood, California on Friday.
She looked super cute wearing a Prada ensemble which included a metallic cropped long sleeve cardi paired with a printed bell-shaped skirt.
Gold hoop earrings and tan Prada ankle strap pumps completed her look.
As cute as this look is, I wish the cropped cardi wasn’t so obviously a DIY job.

Rihanna In Mark Fast – 23rd Birthday Party

Rihanna celebrated her 23rd birthday with a Nivea sponsored party at a private residence in Beverly Hills on Sunday.
She shook her famous booty wearing a Mark Fast Spring 2011 dress.
Mark Fast’s voluptuous creations are designed to highlight the female form. This nude and purple handmade knit mini-dress with tassels does it effortlessly.
There are very few women who can actually work this look without fear – Rihanna and Kylie who is also huge fan of Mark Fast.
I think most women would be petrified to wear one of Mark’s sexy dresses, but then most of us don’t have fabulous figures like Rihanna and Kylie.
